“Walking the talk”

It’s July!!!

It’s July! Which means that we’re getting closer to our EUDEC festival. For our organisational team, time is starting to feel like a rollercoaster, going faster an faster. It’s a busy time, wrapping up the activities in our schools AND preparing for this event, but we’re really enjoying it and looking forward to seeing you all.

The last couple of months we’ve been updating you once a month. Now we intend to give you an update weekly, so we’re living up to it together.

The campingsite is fully booked

A lot of people who registered are staying in a tent on the festival terrain. That’s good news, we can spend a lot of time together. For who hasn’t registered yet and still wants to come with a tent it’s a pity: it’s not an option anymore.

Ofcourse it’s possible to chose for one of the other options: there is still space in the hostel and the hotel. The hostel is at walking distance and we plan to organise transportation to the hotel, so please: don’t let this message stop you from coming.

And maybe you are reading this, registered with a tent and knowing that you have an open place in your tent. Please let us know by sending an email to info@democratischescholen.nl.

Arrival day

Monday the 29th of July will be arrival day. We expect people to come in during the day and get settled. In the afternoon from 14:00 to 18:00h we have all kinds of traditional Dutch games, so we can connect and get to know eachother in a fun way. There’ll also be different kinds of Dutch snacks.

In the evening there’ll be an opening ceremony where we can meet all of you. At this moment239 people from 31 countries have registered.

Welcome to Holland

The picture gives an outline of the program during the rest of the week, more details will follow in the coming newsletters. Next to the EUDEC program, you might want to use the occasion, to visit parts of Holland. Of course you can find your own way in this, but we also planned two options for you.

On Tuesday here’s an optional visit to The Hague and the beach of Scheveningen. On Saturday we can visit Utrecht to canoe in the canals and walk through the citycentre.

Costs are 25 euro + lunch each.
