EUDEC 2024

We are pleased to invite you to the EUDEC 2024. We will be guests at Democratic school 'De Ruimte' in Soest.
A number of democratic schools in the Netherlands is organising this event. We invite people involved in democratic education. Team, students, parents: everyone is welcome to join.
This EUDEC focuses specifically on the rights of the child. There is a separate public day for those interested.

EUDEC is the European community for democratic education and was created to raise awareness for democratic education. EUDEC facilitates events dedicated to the development of school concepts, aiming to give children the right to make their own choices regarding learning and all other areas of everyday life.

There are as many paths as there are people. There is a lot of talk about education and children. We like to talk to the children and not just about them. In Democratic schools we speak to each other on the basis of equality. We would like to inspire others to do this too.

Children and young people have the same general human rights as adults and also specific rights that recognize their special needs. Children are neither the property of their parents nor are they helpless objects of charity. They are human beings and are the subject of their own rights.
